Esperance Opening Day

Esperance Bay Turf Club kicks off their racing season on 25th November!

Esperance Racecourse is located 700km southeast of Perth in a coastal town, known for its stunning beaches. For this reason, it is described as the track “where the surf meets the turf”.

Racing at Esperance has been happening for more than 100 years, though was previously held at locations including Pink Lake, Bow’s Farm and the “old” racecourse on Lake Road. Run by the Esperance Bay Turf Club, the club moved the races to its current location in 1984. This track has a 1900m grass course and stabling facilities for visiting trainers.

Racing at Esperance runs in the summer months from November to March each season, highlighted by Ladies Day and Esperance Cup Day towards the end of the season.
