Enjoy a weekend at Landor as they hold their annual race meeting weekend!

Friday evening is the kids party in the hall from 6.30pm hosted by DJ Rev, theme is Welcome to the Jungle followed by the Calcutta then music and dancing with Leather and Lace.

Saturday starts with a casual morning market stalls followed by a full afternoon of races and the running of the Ladies Bracelet.

Saturday night ball theme is Welcome to the Jungle.

Landor Races is located just under 1000km north of Perth, in the East Gascoyne region, near Landor Station. Hosting a traditional bush race meeting each year, the Landor races have a colourful history with true outback flavour.

Racing at Landor goes as far back as 1921 when stockmen from nearby stations who had come together at a local mustering camp were arguing over who had the fastest horse. From here Eastern Gascoyne Race Club was formed, the club responsible for Landor Races.

Unlike traditional races, Landor doesn’t have any starting gates, instead opting to use a “walk up starts”. The races are an annual event, having run since 1921 with the exception of a few years during World War II.

Landor Races prides itself on its focus on the local community. Only horses that are registered as being North-West bred, District Qualified or Class D horses were allowed to compete. Jockeys must be licensed track riders with local station employees preferred.

The Landor Races are held annually in October. It is highlighted by the Ladies Bracelet on Saturday, Gymkhana Day on Sunday and Landor cup on Monday.
