York Racecourse is an hour and a half drive from Western Australia’s capital city, Perth. Situated at the bottom of Mount Bakewell, the hills provide a picturesque backdrop for this country racecourse.

Racing at this track began in 1849, making it one of the oldest tracks in Western Australia, which is evident through the track and town’s country charm. In 2015, the town’s turf and harness clubs came together to form York Racing Inc.

This track hosts a number of mid-week and weekend racing throughout the autumn, winter and early spring months. Highlights on its calendar include the Ladies of Day featuring the Rose of York, held on the long weekend in March, and York Cup, held in November. Its feature race days are filled with quality racing, Fashions on the Field and live entertainment.
