Belmont Park in Western Australia is located just a 10-minute drive from Perth’s CBD. It is one of two racetracks located in the Perth metro area, with the other being Ascot Racecourse. Both are run by Perth Racing, which was formally known as the Western Australian Racing Club.

Surrounded by the Swan River, Belmont Park is positioned at the gateway to the CBD and entertainment precinct, being within walking distance to Optus Stadium, which hosts football during the winter seasons, as well as Crown Casino.

Thoroughbred racing at Belmont Park began on Christmas Eve in 1910. The track started out as host to the Western Australian Trotting Association before they moved to the Cricket Grounds in 1914. It was also an airfield between 1911 and 1919, including being the home of the first flight from WA.

Belmont is considered one of the best winter tracks in Australia thanks to its draining system and indoor grandstand. Racing occurs during the late autumn, winter and early spring months, hosting both mid-week and Saturday races. The track hosts four group races which include the Roma Cup, Belmont Sprint, Hyperion Stakes and Strickland Stakes.
