About Marble Bar Race Club

Marble Bar Racecourse is located just under 1500km northeast of Western Australia’s capital city, Perth. With a track surrounded by spinifex, red hills and a dusty two-up ring, the Pilbara comes together with miners, town folk, families, travellers from across the world, and all the crew from Pilbara Stations near and far.

Established in 1893 the Marble Bar Races represents over 125 years of history. With a population of less than 200, the races draw in over 2000 to its weekend carnival, including the Race Ball and the Races, which is the highlight of the Pilbara social calendar. Racegoers are encouraged to camp at the track on Friday and Saturday nights.

Held in June, the Saturday consists of 5 races, highlighted by the Mable Bar Cup. The picnic meeting fun continues with the highly anticipated – “undie-run”, a race where punters strip down to their undies and are invited onto the track to race the 100-metre final stretch. Following the race meeting, there is entertainment which runs until about midnight.

Over the years Marble Bar has been seen as a very successful picnic race day, it is an event not to be missed. The track is run by the Marble Bar Race Club, bringing fun and country charm to its racecourse.
