Location: York Racing

Located just over an hour from Perth, York is one of the oldest and most historic towns in Western Australia, founded in 1831 during the early days of the Swan River Colony. It is also home to one of the state’s oldest race clubs, the York Racing Club.

The York Racing Club celebrated 180 years of racing in 2023. This scenic track hosts a number of meetings throughout the autumn to late spring months, highlighted by Ladies Day held on the long weekend in March and the York Cup held in November.

About York Racing

York Racecourse is an hour and a half drive from Western Australia’s capital city, Perth. Situated at the bottom of Mount Bakewell, the hills provide a picturesque backdrop for this country racecourse.

Racing at this track began in 1843, making it one of the oldest tracks in Western Australia, which is evident through the track and town’s country charm. In 2015, the town’s turf and harness clubs came together to form York Racing Inc.

This track hosts a number of mid-week and weekend racing throughout the autumn, winter and early spring months. Highlights on its calendar include the Ladies of Day featuring the Rose of York, held on the long weekend in March, and Northam Cup, held in November. Its feature race days are filled with quality racing, Fashions on the Field and live entertainment.
